Moderation tools live on a member’s profile, in Community Settings → Safety & Moderation, and in the Activity Log.

Member actions

Action Effect
Change nickname Only inside this community
Timeout They cannot send messages, add reactions, or join voice. Presets from 60 seconds to a week; custom up to 365 days
Kick Removes them. They can come back with an invite
Ban Removes them and blocks re-entry. Duration: permanent, or 1 hour / 12 hours / 1 / 3 / 5 days / 1 / 2 weeks / 1 month. Optionally delete 24 hours or 7 days of their messages

The reason (max 512 characters) is stored in the log. The ban list is Community Settings → BansRevoke Ban.

In Safety & Moderation the owner can require 2FA for moderation actions (ban, kick, timeout, delete messages) and set member verification (email, account age, phone) plus explicit-content filtering in non-NSFW channels.

You cannot punish someone whose highest role is not below yours, and you cannot punish the owner.

Activity log

Community Settings → Activity Log. It records role changes, channel edits, bans, kicks, emoji updates, and similar events. You need permission to view the log.

Members

The Members tab searches by nickname, assigns roles (within the hierarchy), and offers quick actions.
