What these rules cover

Astral is for conversation. These Guidelines define what is not allowed so everyone can use the platform safely. They apply everywhere: DMs, communities, voice, streams, and profiles — for all users, community owners, Plutonium subscribers, and bots.

Communities may add stricter rules, never softer ones. These Guidelines are part of the Terms of Service.

1. The core principle

Treat others the way you want to be treated. If an action would harm people or the Service, do not do it. The spirit of the rules matters more than finding a loophole.

2. Zero tolerance

These lead to an immediate permanent ban. Many are crimes; we report them to authorities and relevant organizations (including NCMEC for CSAM).

2.1. Harm to children

Any sexual content involving minors (including drawn or AI-generated); grooming; sexualization of children; publishing real personal data of minors.

2.2. Violence and terror

Calls to murder or terrorism; glorifying terrorists or mass killers; attack planning; threats of murder or serious harm.

2.3. Dangerous weapons and substances

Instructions for explosives or weapons of mass destruction; unlicensed weapons sales.

2.4. Illegal trade

Drugs, human trafficking, organs, stolen data and cards, forged documents.

2.5. Digital attacks

Malware, botnets, DDoS, phishing, unauthorized attacks. Educational security discussion and bug bounty work are welcome via responsible disclosure (/security).

3. How to treat others

These may lead to warnings, limits, or bans depending on severity:

  • harassment and coordinated pile-ons;
  • hate or dehumanization based on protected characteristics;
  • threats, blackmail, or “joke” threats;
  • doxxing;
  • unsolicited sexual content, revenge porn, deepfake pornography.

4. What you may post

4.1. NSFW

Only between consenting adults or in marked 18+/NSFW channels. Never involving minors, non-consent, real violence/zoophilia, or NSFW in avatars / public previews without labels.

4.2. Graphic violence

Real killings, suicides, and animal cruelty are banned (narrow journalistic context with warnings may be allowed). Artistic depictions in games/film are usually fine.

4.3. Self-harm

Do not encourage suicide/self-harm, share “how-to” guides, or romanticize eating disorders. If someone is struggling, support them; in a crisis, point them to help or moderators.

4.4. Disinformation

No intentional election interference disinformation, life-threatening medical lies, or organized falsehood campaigns. Honest mistakes and opinions are different.

Do not post others’ work without rights. Piracy communities are banned. Fair quotation, memes, criticism, and parody are usually fine. Rights-holder notices: legal@astraof.com.

5. Deception and abuse

No impersonation (parody only if obvious), fraud and phishing, spam and fake engagement, or ban evasion. Appeal disputed bans (Section 8); do not create a new account.

6. Using the Service

Bots are welcome within API limits and these Guidelines; creators are responsible for their bots. Mass scraping and bypassing protections are banned. VPN use alone is not a violation, but geo-dependent features may be limited. Report vulnerabilities via /security.

7. If you own a community

You must publish rules, moderate, and prevent systematic abuse. Escalation: warning → restrictions → community ban; instant ban for crime-focused communities. NSFW communities must be 18+, age-gate entrants, and keep NSFW out of underage-facing previews.

8. Enforcement

Action When
Content removal Any violation
Warning Mild, non-systematic
Temporary feature limits e.g. 24-hour mute
Temporary / permanent ban Serious or repeated
Device/IP ban Ban evasion
Report to authorities Crimes

We consider severity, intent, history, and harm. CSAM, organized harassment, direct threats, and terror get an immediate permanent ban.

Appeals: support@astraof.com with details and evidence; usually within 14 days; a human decides.

9. Reporting

Use Report or email support@astraof.com. For children or imminent harm, mark URGENT. Mass false reports are themselves a violation.

Copyright: legal@astraof.com with your contacts, links to the work and the infringing content, a good-faith statement, and a signature.

10. Law-enforcement requests

Process is described in the Terms and Privacy Policy. Contact: legal@astraof.com.

11. Changes

Current version: /guidelines. Material changes: at least 30 days’ notice. If you disagree, delete your account before the new version takes effect.

12. Where to write
