The same actions work in DMs, groups, and community channels.
Reply
Hover a message → Reply, or swipe on a phone. A quote appears in the composer. You can still attach files and use formatting.
Reactions
Hover → emoji. Double-click adds your first quick reaction. Clicking the same reaction again removes yours. The UI allows up to 10 different reactions on one message. Open the count to see who reacted.
Forward
Message menu → Forward. You can pick up to 5 destinations and add a comment. Recipients see the original author and a link back if they have access.
Mentions
Type @ and pick a person or role. @everyone and @here notify everyone / everyone online in the channel — you need permission. If a mention would hit more than 50 people, Astral asks you to confirm.
Your mention inbox is in the channel header → Inbox (Ctrl / Cmd + I). Entries stay 7 days. Sound settings: Notifications and sounds.
