Regular attachments expire based on size. Smaller files last longer; larger ones expire sooner. Viewing the message near the deadline can extend the link. Full rules: How attachment expiry works on Astral.

You can hide the “Expires …” footnote in User Settings → Messages & Media → Media.

Saved Media

The star on a preview stores a copy of an image, video, GIF, or audio clip. The limit is 50 free and 500 with Plutonium. Those copies do not expire until you delete them. The collection follows you across sessions.

This is separate from message bookmarks: Bookmarked messages.

Astral is a messenger, not a disk. Keep important archives on your own storage.
